Please don't be scared. As far as time off of work, I missed the day of the surgery and the following day. That was it! And flew to Vegas for a few days a week after surgery. Didn't effect my black-jack skills at all! As far as handling 3 kids aged 4, 3 and 1 - now that would scare me silly! lol! Looking forward to getting to know you!

Hi chocchip79. Sorry about your diagnosis of CTS. You do have a lot on your plate with three children, a new job, and painful hands. I'm 52 and have had the surgery. You'll have less stress if you know what to expect the day of surgery. The unknown is what upsets me most.
