I am not sure whether or not to have the surgery done arthroscopic or the old fashion way where they open you all the way up. If anyone has had the arthroscopic surgery done I would appreciate some feedback. They say it is painless and you can go back to work in very few days.

I had cts surgery 2x, both hands. The incision was perhaps an inch and a half on both palms. He did the wrist release by going under the end of the incsion for internal release. I know there are more than one kind of release. No matter, you will have some pain just from the release. My L hand was the worse, and the part that gave me the most trouble was the wrist release where he did it internally. Good luck to you, even the pain I had was not huge....barely used the pain meds, motrin worked fine, I did a lot of my own PT on it before and after the surgeries. Massaging seems to help speed both healing and reducing pain. Keep your hands lightly but frmly splinted afterwards to let them heal, they get pretty tired at first. My R hand scar is hardly noticeable while the L is still bigger. But I had the R done last Nov and L done this Feb...but I can button buttons again and open the pickle jar again.
