Advice for Pre-Caregiver?

Hi everybody,

This is a new group for me.

I am engaged to a man with MS- PPMS, to be exact. I'm trying to get as much info as I can *now* so I'll know what to expect and how to prepare myself both inside and out.

***Is there anything that anyone could share----- what do you wish that you had known ahead of time? What have you learned? What helps with balancing it all?***

His legs are wobbly, and there is probably a wheelchair in the future. It sounds like MS sometimes means being bed-ridden. It can have an effect on cognition and the emotions too, and he is a Scorpio- mostly gentle, but firey when firey! He is apparently guaranteed to decline- how far, nobody knows.

He is currently a part time art/photog professor at a college, and loves to farm his land for fun. He's 59, I'm 47.

Thank you so, so much for giving care to me too! This is scary. And he's wonderful.

Cecilia : )
