It would be nice to be able to get thru a cup of coffee, a morning newspaper, and read my email BEFORE he starts calling my name and wanting attention......no such luck! It's 8:11 AM (after my stupid neighbors decided to wake me up by talking loudly outside my window at 7 am), and now the husband is already calling me.....oh well, day begins. just venting.....have a good day to my fellow caregivers!!!

" Know how you feel. Count yourself lucky, my husband wakes me at 6:00 a.m.! LOL.

Hope your day is going better.

" I know where you're coming from. My wife wakes me between 6&7am with the first of her demands. By the time I'm done with the first round, it's normally 9am before I can get my first sip of coffee. I may get to the paper by 11am. So much for "retirement".

I suspect there are very few caregivers around that don't have to sacrifice part of their morning routine. It's just what we do for our loved one. Here's hoping the rest of your day goes smoothly. "

" it's strange to admit, but I think most caregivers will understand...the best part of my day is at night, when my grandmother has gone to bed and i get to be alone for just a little while. whether it's in the evening or in the morning we all have little moments we like to have for ourselves and I think we deserve them! we just don't always get to enjoy them. ;) "

" I had to ask my husband to stop thinking about what I could do for him evey time he sees me. It helped because it made him aware that I was getting worn out. It is okay to speak up. If he was well and demanding, I would have said the same thing.I get so tired of sacrificing myr needs to accomodate just because I feel sorry for him. It felt good to talk to him like the old days.
