I got a call on Wednesday, the gal was all nicey-nicey. She told me that my resume made it in at the last minute and the VP wanted me to come in for an interview on Friday (today), if I could. I've been out of work since March 1, 2009, of course I said I'd be there. The site is 30 miles from me, and I was half way there, when my phone rang... it was the gal that set up the interview; she called to tell me that my interview was canceled, sorry for the inconvenience. Sorry for the inconvenience?! Are they nutts?! I mean come on, they called me and set up the interview, then as soon as I am on my way to the interview, they call my cell phone and cancel. I will never buy any products from 21st Century Vitamin, or their subsidiaries: 21st Century Nutritional and 21 Century Healthcare, INC.
I wrote the owner of the company, but I don't expect to get a response. People that operate like that usually don't respond.

Thanks for listening to my vent!

" Happy to listen--it was not an inconvenience! Shame they didn't even offer you a rescheduled time. Sometimes it happens that the interviewer has a scheduling conflict, but you'd hope they'd nice enough to reset the appointment. And if they hired someone else, they should have given a much earlier curtesy call. "

" Sorry, I was so upset yesterday that I didn't explain the call. They hired someone else, and then called me when I was driving into the interview. "

" Ooh too bad! Gee they could have wrapped it up a bit nicer. I'd try to look at it as their loss and your gain. It's important to have a good rapport between employer and employee and you might not have enjoyed it there. "

" Here's an update, I received an email from the company's CEO. He also asked me to come in for an interview with him. I did, I think it went well. Honesty, I felt a bit weird, I'm sure no one thought I would show up. I was a little concerned about that, too. The cool thing, the CEO is recommending me for another position. A decision will be made by November 1st. I have my fingers crossed! "
