I Can't Find Anyone That Wants To Work?

Hi,
I'm a small business that has stumbled upon two new services for other small businesses that is selling like crazy and really bringing in business for them. I've worked out of my home for the past 17 years and live in a rural area. My personal sales are limited because of very little population so I find independent sales contractors to sale in their local areas and work from their homes. This has worked great until about two years ago. I have replied to over 200 resumes on free web sites, CraigsList, Back Page, Indeed, etc. because at $50 a pop for the paid sites, I'd be way past broke. The average commission per sale, that I pay, is $600~$800 and when the client renews their agreement, I pay a 20% commission. It's Good Money! I also supply online and phone training / support along with all the sales aids they will need. I am yet to receive a reply from the 200+ resumes I contacted. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I'm at wits end. Are B2B sales dead? Am I looking in the wrong places for help? Is it the pay? Any guidance will be greatly appreciated! Thanks, BoomerMike Posted on 06/19/12, 11:33 pm |

being independent contractor sucks in sales...that would be the rock hitting me in the head...I want much and so do all the others...nothing is hopeful when independent contractor...you just keep on killing on CL or where it is free because your right paying to get no serious responses is horrid way to go...

In every recession/ depression loads of 'jobs' appear. These are 'self employed' ' independent consultant.' Kleenezee Bettaware Avon etc you pay the advertising, the postage, overheads. Same as the envelope packers, dropshippers, $50 for list of jobs. That chin letters, betting systems and win the lottery schemes should all go in the round file.

There could be general mistrust; as the previous poster noted - many similar job ads appear when times are rough and people need a steady, dependable income to pay bills, so it could be that some of these folks decide to keep looking elsewhere, even after you contact them.
