I have had Carcinoid since 2002 and lately I have been having a new symptom of excessive sweating on my head/neck. It seems to happen with the least bit of stress. I take the Octreotide shot and it quickly goes away. Has anyone out there experienced anything like this?

I also get the sweating. I notice it happens when its about the time to receive another injection of Sandostatin LAR. I go about 3 weeks before the symptom comes back. My doctor has told me he is considering upping the dosage.

Thanks for answering my sweat question. You might have hit it on the head because when I take my shot it immediately works and I quit the sweats. I am also on the SandostatinLAR 30 every other week. You and I are the only ones that I have heard about that get sweats. I never flush anymore, not since my surgery. But it is embarrassing if I am out with people. I think it happens most with eating and stressing. My hair is coming out again too.....Ugh!!!
