Hi everybody....I have been sick since Oct. 10th...got a bacterial infection - gasping for breath - was admitted to the hospital and given very large doses of prednisone intravenously along with heavy duty antibiotics...was in the hospital for 10 days ..when I got home within one week I developed this horrendous rash over my WHOLE body that itched and burned like crazy (on 10 mg.. prednisone).....just yesterday the dr. brought me downn to 7.5 mg prednisonne for 4 days then 5 mg for 4 days and then 2.5 for one week....
Has anyone else experienced any kind of horrible rash from this drug....thanks for responding......katie Posted on 11/07/09, 12:11 pm |

I have been on prednisone and antibiotics, I agree with the others the rash is probaly coming from the antibiotics. Prednisone does have side effects but never heard of a rash. Sorry to hear you were in the hospital and hope you are recovering well at home.

all steroids can cause this..and dryness...but if its sevre then get to er..if it makes the brething worse call the squad..
