Hi Everyone I recieved my H1N1 Flu shot today. My Gyn gave it to me because he had it in his office.. My Pulomanary Dr. did not have it at the time I visted him.. Dr. Heitman told me since I have health issues and he has the H1N1 in his office he felt I should get it... I am kind of relieved now... Go for it. Do not be afraid. When I was a child we had to get the polio shot and TB Shot... Those were new also. Well that is all I just wanted you guys to know in case some people on this site have issues with getting it.. Got mine today. I'm with Kaiser and they opened it up to folks with our condition under 65 y/o (that's insane) yesterday in Oregon. (They keep it posted on their website for all their regions (yours too Marg). I waited a day before going in, very short lines, was in and out in 10 minutes (the gal ahead of me had a 3 y/o and had to debate back and forth for 9 min whether she wanted her daughter to have the shot or nasal). They said more and more will be coming in quickly and everyone who wants one will be able to get one soon. I think they are doing a pretty good job considering they are trying to vacinate a good portion of the entire globe.
We lost a college student this week from this flu virus, very healthy in his early 20's with no previous health issues. There is a wonderful website that gives tons of information and updates on the virus, vacine and distribution. http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/

I wasn't in her office, I'd seen it online that she had it. Had I been she most likely GLADLY had given me one since she's usually the one that tries to talk me into the seasonal one every year. lol I haven't had a flu shot since early high school, and fortunately I've never had more than just colds and stuff.

Im supposed to have the shot because i have health issues but, im too scared. ill just stay out of places where it is crowded. That will help! I got the regular flu shot.

Kat don't be afraid I felt like that also but you know what I am totally glad I was able to get it.. Do not take a chance... they are giving this shot to babies and pregnant ladies.. If they felt it be harmful they would not administer this shot.. In the 50's we had a new shot for penicillin, TB and Polio, small poxs etc. You did not questiion it than why would you be afraid now.. This is going to protect you... Hugs.

I live in California and got my H1N1 shot a couple of days ago. My doctor didn't have the vaccine, so I went to a public health clinic in Oceanside. Absolutely no waiting. It was a breeze, and I am thankful I got it.
