Hi Everyone I recieved my H1N1 Flu shot today. My Gyn gave it to me because he had it in his office.. My Pulomanary Dr. did not have it at the time I visted him.. Dr. Heitman told me since I have health issues and he has the H1N1 in his office he felt I should get it... I am kind of relieved now... Go for it. Do not be afraid. When I was a child we had to get the polio shot and TB Shot... Those were new also. Well that is all I just wanted you guys to know in case some people on this site have issues with getting it.. thanks for letting us know! but did they have to do a pap test in order to get that shot? (they've been after me about that for some time!!!) in which case, i'll wait for the pulmo to get it!

lol Margaret that is funny.. Pap test. No I went to my Gyn for my yearly exam and he happen to already have the H1N1 for his pregnant mamas so since I was there and in bad health he gave it to me.. Maybe because I look nine months pregnant he gave me the shot... lol.

Sandi good to see you again. You surely were lucky to get that shot especially from your doctor. I know in most areas the counties are running the clinics and then they go to the doctors for the general public (those who don't fall within the 1st category).
What state do you live? I know here there has been a lot of controversy over how it was handled. Of course only one partial week of clinics were held as they ran out and have not gotten received anymore in. I surely do disagree with the way they have set their priorities, but I guess they are the ones in control of things. Margaret, go get your shot and stop worrying about a PAP test, just tell your doc they have no bearing on each other. That is a story for another time. Have a good day mama! Thanks Sassymeto. I am pleased to have been able to get the shot.. I was a little apprended but now I feel relieved. It was just a freak for me to go have my yearly exam and at the same time my MD had the shot.. If I was Margaret I would go to him for a pap spear. Next week he sheduled me for a Bone Density test because of all the steriods that I have been on for a year. Are you guys ok with your bones? Hugs. Sandi

sass, my doc in california, doesnt have the shot either! counties are doing clinics that people line up for HOURS!!! to try to get one. it is an odd system they're using. margaret

Many of the OB-Gyn offices have doses since the main target range for the vaccine is pregnant women. I finally got my daughter to get it since CDC now states 1in 25 pregnant women who get Swine Flu die. In the town my brother is an OB in, they have had 11 pregnant women hospitalized, 3 died and one is still in a coma.
Though they "think" our first run with this here at home was swine flu they didn't get a positive result on the lab tests from the CDC so now daughter finally chose to get immunized.
