" I, too, am severly ashmatic with COPD. I am on Symbicort 160/4.5, 2 puffs morning and evening, Spiriva once a day in the a.m. and Singular 10 mg. one table before bed.

I also have Combivent (albuterol, basically). I do two puffs about 15 minutes before doing my other meds (my theory being it opens up my airways thus making the other meds more effective). I also will do two puffs about 15 minutes before any strenous excercise or if I am going to be extra active.

I was on Advair previously to being on Symbicort. Getting off of it and onto Symbicort was one of the best things for me....I just had too many side effects from Advair.

I am wondering if you are seeing a doctor or pulmonologist regularly for perhaps your asthma is not under control and/or if you might need further testing, if you have not had a PFT, ABG blood test, etc.

Do you smoke? This is something that can make asthma far worse, so hopefully, not.

Just a thought, but you may need more help medication wise than what you have. I take my meds religiously and have had very few excerbations for a long time whereas previously there were many hospitilizations, and those I do have have been far more controllable.

I hope you feel better soon! "

" I am on Advair, when my 12 hours is up I know it right away, I can't hardly walk at all. I have not had any side affect from Advair. I wouldn't be able to make it without it. I don't know about symbicort, I hear good things about it. "
