Making Me Sad :(....

Hello Everyone...Hugs to all....This whole mess about our profiles showing up on google is really making me feel sad....For everyone here who so openly and honestly shares of themselves...Their hearts, their stories....troubles, tribulations etc....I have been noticing new names and faces here among us....It always makes my heart smile to see anyone reaching out...sharing their voices etc.....
I do understand how each and everyone of you who are outraged feel...You see I am a very private person who totally feels it is my choice and my choice alone as to who I choose to share myself with....We do share some really intimate things here and I hope this will not deter anyone from continuing to do that....This is a warm and caring haven.... The beauty of it is that we are free to say what we fell, we are free to share with one another knowing that someone out there will relate....Will understand....has had a similar experience.... You see that is what is so beautiful.....We all have the opportunity to learn from one another, to support each other....Each voice that is shared is truly a gift as in it there is a reflection of some part of all of us.... PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW THIS MESS TO SILENCE YOU OR INTIMIDATE YOUR FREEDOM TO JUST BE WHO YOU ARE....YOU DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO SOMEONE SOMEWHERE WHEN YOU ALLOW YOUR VOICES TO BE HEARD, SHARED..... May we all continue sharing this journey....One step, one day, one breath at a time...Hugs to you all.... Love and Many Blessings, Serenity Posted on 06/27/09, 02:06 pm |

Hi Serenity,
It saddens me too about our profiles but it also makes me very upset. I think I should sign out and reenlist under a better screen name and then I would feel a little more confident about who sees it. Its like someone looking into your Diary. I had put stuff in my journal that even my husband and children didn't see. It was my private thoughts and feeling that I was sharing with my friends on this site. I hope Doug can fix this or I will reenter this site under a new name. Thanks for the post. and God Bless Nellie

Hugs Nellie....I totally understand and I think you have a very good idea there....I am not sure Doug or anyone else can fix this as it has been an ongoing issue for as long back as I can remember....I ran my own site for over seven years online and as private as I believed I had created it....it still gets out there....If you do this....and I do believe it to be a good idea....Please let me know who you are....lol...Everyone needs a place to just be with no excuses no apologies and feel accepted....A place to open up and share the raw truth of their feelings etc....and if to do this here we have to remain anonymous to be safe in doing just that then I say hey why not right.....A rose by any other name is still a rose....Hugs to you my friend.
Love and Many Blessings, Serenity

I am so sorry you'all for posting without thinking it out first. I feel so bad. I could have phrased it differently and not panic everyone. I'm so sorry some of you deleted so many special memories and moments from your journal from my over-reacting. That's me..react, then think.
What is most important to know is that all our postring in discussions and advice; our journals and pictures (as along as you mark them "for friends only" are protected by DS, so we shouldn't hold back. I'm pretty smart and have a lot of knowledge when it comes to the computer and the internet. I have firewalls on my computer, and antispy, antivirus, antieverything on this computer, But when I sign onto our little neighborhood DS and into our little cozy home here in the COPD room, I guess I left my brain with all that knowledge and smarts at the door! Again, I apoligize. Hugs to the room, Laurie

Here's one thought for those of you who feel like deleting your journals and hugs. Why don't you copy them into a word file and save them to your computer. That way you can still have them and read them, and then you can feel a bit of privacy.
I've been saving my old journals to a word file ever since I started. I figure I'm telling my story, and it's very helpful to be able to read back over them. You can just use "Control-C" to copy them, and "Control-V" to paste. "Control-X" deletes. Just a suggestion. Hugs, Sue

i figure we can just make the whole thing up in our journals! then we can be someone we arent!
i'm sure you all think i'm some kind of genius from my journals and posts. ha! i've been fooling you all...all along. honestly, don't worry so much about your posts and journals. i really can't imagine most people searching thru here...looking for actual private things. it's not like we put our social security numbers on here...is it? we're sharing for the conpanionship and comfort and sharing of information, aren't we? i hope you can all get over this and continue sharing. margaret

Another thing to remember is none of us are using our real name, so if someone did read it on the web they wouldn't know it was you. You might want to edit what you've put in you profile. I don't think anyone is too interested in this sick old lady.
Nice suggestion Sue, thank you. Good advise MamaMarg, thanks. xoxoxo Shirley
