CHARGE Syndrome Support Group

for me, it's hard to know what's legit behavior and inability from charge and what's babying from parents and manipulating. I don't mean to sound so mean, but I know my little one has been through a lot and her family loves her very much. SHe doesn't have to bat much more than and eyelash to get what she wants, but now that she's in school and there are higher expectations, she can't just say no and not have to do it.

so my so is 13 years old he has alot of behavioral stuff going on act now. get her ready for school.have her see a specailist in behavioal heald.

Actually ... I should've updated long ago, I just forgot about this board. I did find out that many high functioning CHARGE kiddos do have ADD/ADHD. My son was diag with ADHD in late Sept. He's been taking medication and his behavior has improved drasitically. Many of the "pretend play" and "in his own world" behaviors have completely gone. I'm happy to report that my son is still the same sweet boy, only enhanced. God bless ... and thanks for asking.
