Hello CADASIL group. I'm Wayne (age 49)and I'm just learning about what I may have, in which the hospital is curently saying is CADASIL. What triggered this diagnois is I had my hearing tested in Feb., the audiologist was puzzled as my good ear was losing hearing dramatically. So the ear specialist suggested I get a MRI (he thought it may be a ear canal tumor). Well got the MRI done and the hosiptal report said I had deep infracts in my brain, and suggests this may be CADASIL (or MS?).
So now they want me to see a neurologist. This has taken me by surprise as I am general healthy and have no problems (currently). They think this may be part of my birth defects (eye loss, hearing) so may not be genetic. So this is all I know until I see a specialist next month, which is kinda leaving me puzzled and wondering what this is all about going on in my brain!. Can anyone shed any light on this before I go in with their experiance like mine? Posted on 04/19/09, 12:04 pm |
