Hello everyone,
How surprised I was to find a new Cadasil support group, since as you all know there are very few of them. My husband has Cadasil and I have been his caregiver for 6 years after suffering from 2 major strokes. We have been married for 36 years and have 6 grown children and 9 grandkids. I look forward to getting to know you all.

" I to have CADSIL. I have had to change many activities in my live.My passion was sailing, bbut now I'am trying to find one. I get lost driving so I had to give up my USCG Captains Lic. Philosophy is play hard, live long and Give Back. I am now working on the 3rd ("Giving Back"). I at time I feel very alone with whole thing and I would like to some to help not to feel alone and to share info and to help each other. "

" I to am new to this group.

My uncle was diagnosed a few months ago. My dad went into a nursing home in January of 08. They just did the genetic testing on him and it turns out he has CADASIL also.

I have MS myself... which they say is related to CADASIL, so basically I am genetically screwed... But the thing is I am going to fight genetics and fight it all until I am unable to do it anymore. I encourage my dad to do things like exercise and eat right and stuff like that. I keep tabs on him also by talking to the nursing home admins.

I have noticed that this group is not very active. However any perspective you can give me would be greatly appreciated! "
