Burnt at birth

Hi, another newbie here.
Really glad to have found this support group and have found the posts helpful already.
I realise many burns are an accident and what I say is not aimed at anyone, but I need to release my feelings too.May be possible triggers:
I was burnt as a baby by my natural mother (I am adopted). She has severe depression and I also suffered other neglect.I have met my natural parents now.
I had to have skin grafts as a child. I am left with white raised burns horizontally,I can cover them up with clothes. In general I don't like to look at them and am self conscious.I have camoflauge make-up (from the NHS) I wear occasionally but is not cheap.
I have various feelings from deep sadness to anger to calmer feelings (usually the former!)
I sometimes think 'right I've had these burns for numerous years,I've suffered, now take the bloody things away'and I dream about some treatment which will make them vanish.
Look forward to speaking to you all.

" You cannot seem to edit a post can you?
I didn't mean to mislead anyone in the tile of my previous post-I didn't mean to say I was burned AT birth, as I said later, I was burned as a baby.
Anyway, hope to talk more to you all and thanks for the odd PM I've had already. "

" I can really relate to your story - I was burned as a baby as well, but the neglect was due to my father. You're lucky your scars are in places you can wear clothes, mine are on my face and hands so I can't cover them up. I also wish there was some special treatment that just took it all away, it's not fair that we have to suffer with this without reprieve when it wasn't our fault. It's nice to know that there are sites like this on the web that offer support though, I've found it's really difficult to find burns support in the 'real world'. "

" Totally understand and thanks for replying.I went to my doctor and got referred to an NHS Hospital in the UK where they matched my scars with the right colour-I got cream and powder. It's quite good but expensive.Thinking of you izzy. "
