Large study just published in the New England Journal of Medicine Dec 27,2007 enrolled 722 patients with new diagnosis of metastatic breast cancer and gave them either: Taxol (Paclitaxel) alone OR Taxol plus Avastin (Bevacizumab)

Here is what they found:
Initial therapy of metastatic breast cancer with Taxol plus Avastin prolongs PROGRESSION-FREE SURVIVAL but NOT overall survival as compared to Taxol alone
