After 10 years my breast cancer came back. My only option was a bilateral mastectomy. Dealing with the depression is my biggest problem.

" Hi, I have a new cancer 7 yrs after the first so I know a little about what you feel. I just had my 2nd mastectomy and am trying to recover in order to be healthy enough for more chemo. You beat this before and you can do it again. I gave myself permission to grieve for a couple of days and now it's time to kick ass! Sending you big, big hugs! "

" Recurrence is the big fear for all of us. Going 10 years just to get hit with cancer again just seems so unfair (as if anything to do with cancer is fair).

Surviving a bilateral mastectomy is very doable. Just wait to hear from all the lovely women on this site who have been there, done that. It is going to be different than what you went through before but, having had a single mastectomy last year, I can tell you with confidence that it was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

You won the battle 10 years ago and now you have to believe you will win once again and beat the cancer back. This time I hope you kick it for good.

Good luck to you in your upcoming fight! Know that we are all here if you need us.

" I hope you found or find somthing to help you with your depression. There are many great references out there for self-help books. Your doctor also probably has some good literature that will help you.

Keep in mind that the local libraries have a great wealth of resources that will help you - all at no cost to you.

Maybe I am the only one who is a little uncomfortable with someone trying to sell you their book on this site. I am sure their offer was driven by a a genuine desire to help but it just feels a little off to me.

I hope you are coping well and are perfectly healthy soon.

" Prevention is better than cure. Just read an article in http://breastcancer.dormitory.com/. It

mentions that Walking Can Decrease Breast Cancer Recurrence 40 Percent.I think not just walking

but better sleep and regular sports also help to decrease the posibility of breast cancer. Share

the article as following hope it will help:

When it comes to further minimizing the chance of breast cancer recurrence, Dr. Carolyn Kaelin, a

Harvard surgeon, breast cancer survivor and author of The Breast Cancer Survivor's Fitness Plan,

says, "Brisk walking - about 3.0 mph on a treadmill - for three to five hours per week, or about

30 minutes a day, can net big benefits
for breast cancer survivors. "
