ixabepilone... anyone on this drug yet?

I have failed just about every drug there is for metastatic breast cancer. I have been on Adriamycin( maxed out my life time dosage), cytoxin, taxatere, Herceptin, navelbine, gemzar, doxil,abraxane, xeloda, tykerb, avastin, taxol, and god knows what else. The ixabepilone is my next line of defense. Just wondering what to expect with it.

Hey Suzieq
As you may already know sensory neuropathy, fatigue and neutropenia are the most common side effects. In 2 studies looking at use of ixabepilone in people like you (taxane resistant, etc) the response rate was 57%. I wish you the best of luck and NO side effects and please keep us posted Dr O.

I'm sorry, I also don't know anything about this drug. It sounds like you've been through alot but remember, you are strong and can do this! I will be praying for you and thinking about you daily.
