1 year after he left

It's been a whole year since he left. I realize that he really was an alcoholic and focused on the drink instead of anything else. I went to Coffin Island today, It's an Island where the 1st settlers in the 1680's dropped off people with the Plague and other diseases, they would come back in 3 months to pick them up and most died. This island has always had "sick" people on it. I saw over 25 true alcoholics today, you can tell because it is "you can just see the disease"! I realized that the man I was married to drank until he passed out. He was a functioning alcoholic and I wouldn't want to be a part of that ever again. How was I so blind to that. He had the odor the shakes drank more than a 12 pack a day. I didn't see it because I loved him and he was giving me some attention. I believe he will never ever call me again and just do what he's always done. I hope God takes good care of him and only good blessings I send his way. Hopefully he will quit hurting his organs with the alcohol. God Bless my Ex Husband and show him Happiness. Love TrishtheDish
I had to write it to live it, even though it's on this site. If you read it Thankyou and God Bless All Posted on 11/09/09, 01:11 am |

Bless you for wishing him well. I see too much need for revenge on this site and sometimes it brings me down. We all have our limits in forgiveness however I am encouraged to see a person able to go past her's, free her ex from the transgressions he has commited and free herself at the same time.
Keep up he good work. This uplifted me. I thank you.

I found out, and my 83 yr old Mamma told me, that if you pray for good to come to those that hurt you and be kind to those that hurt you, no matter what, you will be better off in the long run.
I found out today that I feel happier to want only good to come his way. I think happy thoughts and all happy people come my way. By thinking happy thoughts it (shoo's away) the negative ppl!!! It works and it's the Law of Attraction. Read "The Secret" and "The Shack" It's easy reading and sooo inspiring. God Bless TrishtheDish

So true trish....so true.
The neat thing is, I'm watching my kids pick up my practice to let go. And it's wonderful to see them getting along with other kids that they used to just fight with.

I saw a lot of the same thing today and in many different lifestyles. In the end they All drink into passing out and I SAW THIS with my own eyes and as a bystander. I thought about all of the faces that I saw and they all have the same look in their eyes. I wish for Blessing to all of them and understand that I can't help them. They all need to become happy with themselves and not hide from whatever it is by Getting Drunk and becoming addicted to the alcohol. I was really sad and thought it was me and now I SEE that I am a strong soul and wasn't free with the ExHusband. I was being held back in a no win situation with him. He is going to die early from what he's doing to his body. He thinks he's healthy because he takes vitamins and drinks over a gallon of water everyday and only eats healthily. I beg to differ, he's ruining his liver and organs. God Bless TrishtheDish

Trish,
Thank you for confirming something that we all, essentially, need to do in order to move on. I know, too, that there will be many misgivings on the part of anyone who participates this this type of an exercise as we are inconsistent and extremely emotionally complex. Today I read an article about a guy who was assaulted in his own neighborhood in the north side of Chicago. His final answer to how he should deal with this is as follows: Real power occurs in silence: the silence of reaching out, listening, understanding. And as I talk to people about my encounter, as the flow of love begins to heal the emotional rift, I feel silent determination grow inside me to stay the course of peace. I have had to exercise this myself as well or I simply would have gone insane with newly acquired sensitivity to MY own feelings. So, I describe my resolution to some of the abuse by her as well as my own family as follows: I am still reaching out and humanity is more and more validated with each new turn, each new contact which further cements my place in this universe among them, all the while realizing that I will always meet grace under sway of an all-too-unavoidable "supreme imperfection." I, too, am cursed with this same "sickness unto death" just like everyone else. I hope that others will also find a way, in their hearts to forgive me as well . . .
