Disappointment with ex inlaws...

The only two ex inlaws that I trusted were my x's mother and his sister. Both have given me plenty of ammo again my x because they consider themselves more on my kids sides than taking either mine or my x's. My x sil called a few days ago wanting advice about her son's birthday party and I was just able to return her call tonight. We talked about the birthday party and then I let her know about the drug addict's shoplifting arrest. SIL's replied that she already knew about it. This happened a week and a half ago...and she told me that she hadn't planned on telling me if I didn't know already. WTH? Both x sil and x mil know that I'm working on building a case to keep the drug addict away from my kids. I asked point blank if the baby was with her when she was arrested and she reluctantly told me that he was. Now I realize that their loyalties are torn but this is about MY KIDS. I've pretty much decided that my trust in them is GONE after three years of their support for my kids. Am I wrong in writing them off as people I can trust?

" I would NOT trust them. The old saying blood is thicker than water, has much truth to it! You would probably be wise not to bring up the subject of your ex unless they bring it up first.

My stbx is an addict & tells his parents all types of lies & they believe everything he says. They even blame me for our marriage breaking up...his mother has actually told me if I had been a better wife, he wouldn't have turned to drugs! Ha! "

" I trusted, but any argument, huge one, leading to separetion, was so obvious whose relative on which side. Mine on mine, his on his, same goes to friends. "

" Maybe they didn't want to upset you. Maybe they didn't think it would be important enough for your case.
If it were me, I would keep them on your side, you may still need their help for your kids. "

" Yeah...I think I'm done with them. I kinda picked up on a few things. One thing she was talking about was how she thought that her brother was about done with the drug addict...sorry but quite honestly, her brother's not any better, if not worse. Not only does he also have a drug problem, he doesn't even try to see or talk to his kids. At least the drug addict continues to try to see and talk to the two kids even though she lost custody. I don't see why or how they could think he's any better than she is...he's pickleboy after all. I didn't say that to x sil though, of course. I can respect them being on neither of our sides and choosing to be on the side of the kids but I cannot respect them overlooking the welfare of my kids over pickleboy just because they see a slight chance pickleboy is getting sick of the drug addict's antics. " She was arrested for shoplifting while she had her 1 year old son (my kids' half brother) with her. They had to know that it would help my case. LOL...and no part of it upsets me at this point. :) I just want her away from my kids. "

" wow - just continue to put your children's safety first - I would definately want to believe that they would also be looking out for the best interest of your kids above protecting his reputation but - it seems in so many cases families try to protect eachother and in doing so overlook harmful behaviour...I'm certain you have enough already to be able to keep her from your children...geez - what does it take!? " This is just so wrong. I don't think I would trust the in-laws either. Keep the kids in their lives but watch them like a hawk!

" The PCW shoplifted with my kids. She didn't get caught that time and when she did get caught she just did another"controlled buy" for the local idiot cops here. "
