I have had a hard couple of weeks week like circumstance and reached a point one day last week where I had a melt down and couldn't start crying.

I had worked all day on a job and had raced home to pay my bills before going to teach an after school art program. I had made arrangements with the power company to pay them by the next day. When I got home the power was off. I called them and got the run around and was then told the payment plan was null and void, which meant I had to come up with 450.00 on the spot! When I hung up I just started crying and couldn't stop.

As many of you know I took on the marital home and also simultaneously lost a great deal of my income due to the economic fall out. So I have really been struggling.
I suppose In that moment i reached my limit.

I got in my car and headed to the school where I teach and I still could not stop crying. I called everyone I knew and couldn't raise a soul. I kept telling myself i had to pull it together.
I managed to do so and somehow got through the class, but I felt wrung out and exhausted

My daughter had gotten a ride home from school and was at home waiting for me to get her and take her to soccer practice. She is 16.

Again I did not know how I would get through holding it together for her and get through that practice. I was still holding back tears.

I get home and she gets in the car and we take off and within a matter of moments she had me laughing uproariously. She was telling me about her day and as always was full of hilarious stories. I laughed so hard my side hurt.

I realized in thinking about it all later how grateful I am for her being in my life. She always has me laughing. As a result I started to think about all that I have to be grateful for.

I believe that we get what we put out there. Positive attraction. I believe it's our intention that comes back at as. Quantum physics has proven this to be true.

So I have been more focused in on what is positive in my life and have been making a list of what I have to be grateful for along with having an attitude of gratitude.

I am Thankful for...

My adorable, healthy, funny loving daughters.
I am grateful that I have this wonderful house to live in and be safe and warm.
my sister and her husband. They have been my rocks..
My income... smaller but there none the less.
I am thankful for the night sky full of stars for me to meditate under.
Jo... Who is always there for me..
All my other friends.
My kitties who entertain me and keep me warm at night.
The beautiful Indian summer weather we are having.
This sit, all my buddies and the support they offer.
My leaf blower! LOL!

What are you Thankful for?
What do you want to draw into your life?

" Gosh, Louie, that reminds me of the time last year when I got my power turned off. With all the stress I was under, I really thought I had paid the bill but it was from the month BEFORE. I started bawling and my 9 year old daughter got some tissues and a photo album and said......here, let's look through these old pictures and they'll make you feel better! Well, she was right :) I'm definitely thankful for my kids, my family and my friends!!!! "

" Oh I'm so sorry Louie! Money matters suck.

I am grateful for good friends. True love doesn't need sex or romance. True love is hugs, laughter, and hand holding when you think your knees are going to give out. "

" The ex felt entitled to cut my alimony in half. I have a 34 acre farm to take care of and farm animals too.

I'm grateful I have been able to rob peter to pay paul. That I can get rid of the house phone and the sattelite tv to cut my expenses.

I'm thankful that I live on this farm. It keeps me active and fit.

I'm grateful for the many blessings God has given me.

I'm grateful that God takes care of my needs.

The wonderful sunrises and sunsets I see every morning and night.

Grateful just to be alive and well and thriving. "

" (((Lou))) I have had many moments over the past 4 years as you described, and am still standing, as you are. Gratitude goes so far in making us feel alive, at peace, and at one with ourselves. I know how hard this has been for you, and I am just thankful that at the end of the day, you can come up with so many things that make you smile. You are a strong woman, a wonderful friend to so many, and are blessed to have children to help you get through all this.
I don't know what I would do without my girls. They give me such support and love every day. I could never begin to say how much they enrich my life.

I am thankful for another day to do it better.
my girls and grandchildren
my ds family
my spiritual awareness
my humanity
my kind nature
my life as it has been, so that I could grow
the sunrise
the night sounds and a moon shining brightly
the sound of water falling

I start my day saying thank you for all that I have, and I end the day being thankful for another opportunity to be a ripple..

Thank you Lou for sharing your heart with us, and for being such an extraordinary woman:-) Big hugs, Kimmee "
