Hi
I have a new view on things, my wife and I came back from a trip and I said one of our issues is we don't have a common interest. I then opened myself up to taking Christianity more serious and start praying together. I am hoping this will put us back on the same page. I just don't know how to start this new openess of Christianity. I told her tonight I would like to pray together ( I feel so weird saying that ) I thought I would light a candle but after the candle is lite, NOW WHAT?? Posted on 10/27/09, 05:10 pm |

do and say what you feel. Don't talk to your wife the idea is to talk to your God. Let your God know your dreams hopes and needs and allow time for your wife to do the same.

You know how to pray, right? Just be open and honest about what's on your heart and give it over to The Lord. Might help to hold hands, one of you start and the other finish the prayer.

1) If she doesn't join you, that doesn't mean you are a better person than she is. 2) Sometimes the answer to a prayer is "No".

If you are both believers then you should pray together. My husband only agreed to pray with me after we separated and I could tell that he was just doing it to get me to let him come back. When you pray, speak to God about what is on your heart. It will get more comfortable as you continue. You should also, as a believer, pray with your children. I wish you the best!

Shouldn't you want God in your life because you desire religion, not to please your wife? If she 'loved' you before you were faithful why does converting suddenly make sense in saving your marriage? Bad things happen in a marriage when A. you marry someone thinking you can change them and not for who they are or B. you do something to change your self that goes against your grain to save something.
