Keeping a journal

I"ve been divorced for nearly 5 years now. I joined this site for a couple of reasons. While I have healed and made great progress, I felt it wouldn't hurt me to belong here and gain further insight. I also thought I can share what I have learned through these years.

This Christmas and New Year's were the first in a long time I have looked forward to. It felt good to be able to look forward to the holidays and reflect how far I've come. But it got me to thinking...I wish so badly I had kept a journal during these years. I did a little at the beginning, but then quit. I found it very therapeutic and I'm not sure why I stopped?

I would encourage those of you on this site who are just starting the divorce process, or those who are a bit further along, to write down your thoughts and feelings and anguishes. The day will come when you will be able to look back and see how you've grown and what you have learned.
