To a trusted friend. I liked it and keep reminding myself.

"He had the final say all throughout our marriage. In the divorce, I'll get the final say."

So, it's not exactly true because the laws of the state and judge will have the final say. But it was a moment of truth for me personally. He doesn't get to dictate to me anymore.

" You GO Girl!! I lived by so many rules while I was married. We could only flush the toilet a certain number of times. We could not have a shower upstairs and empty the bathtub downstairs at the same time. My kids had to bathe together (for the longest time) to save that much water going into the septic tank. I could not use the garbage disposal. On and on and on and on and on. Since my ex left the house I have not put the toilet paper on the hanger - thing!!! Ha Ha. And sometimes I flush the toilet for NO reason at all.... "

" Wow sandy, good for you! Do you sometimes leave lights on even when you're not in the room? That feels good too!! "

" No leaving lights on but I do let the garbage disposal run a tad bit longer because it used to drive him nuts. Who knew that noise would be such a sweet sound someday? "

" This seems silly- but he used to not like when I'd say the word "uber" I know it sounds ridiculous... but now I just say it even if it is childish, just cuz I can. =) "
