I am gonna be a single parent now. Never thought it woud happen but now I am trying to figure out and adapt... Going out with him alone, playing "daddy stuff"...
My first worry was - what if something happens to me, an emergency? So I talked to my son (he is 8) about what to do, posted numbers on the fridge... It will come....my girls are 10 and 5 and things come up all the time that I just never thought of talking about before....as long as you love him - and make him feel safe you have done your job.....its so hard - its been a year since he walked out on us and I still can't refer to myself as a "single mom"....just something about the title that I haven't yet accepted....
