Your Headache

The persistant headache that happens after a TBI. Can you explain to me what your headache feels like to you. Pain scale 1-10. Locations, descriptive words... You know. Does it stay the same or does it get milder on it's own? Or do you just find ways to deal with it?
What do you do to make it diminish?

I want to know because I want to know what I am in for. I don't know anybody who has suffered a TBI. My headache feels like there is pressure. It is pretty much around the forhead and top of the cranium areas and not so much in the deeper area of the brain. It has somewhat of a mild irritation feeling to it as well.

Thanks to all of you

" Hey,

You may not be in for anything; think positive. I couldn't understand from your post if you had experienced headaches or not. I hope not, but if you do, it is not the end.

I didn't get any headaches migraines until 18 months later. Pain scale varies. No one can predict what will happen. I still hope that mine will go away as quickly as they came.

I hate them, they vary in degrees ~ as well they vary in degrees for all of us here. Kaz (you'll meet him here :) is a very nice, very informative person to talk with.

I just stopped talking to my family members and friends about them altogether, that's my choice ~ I keep it here. It's just easier. You'll find your way. Sometimes meds help, I don't think anything or any meds can prevent them.

I'm here for you! As all of us are. I'm not one for medical advice though :( Only my experiences and what works for me!! You will find your way. Lean on us, that is what we are here for,...... please. kim "

" Hi... I am almost 3 years post a TBI and yes I had head aches like a vise grip with so much pressure. then I would have sharp shooting pains as if an electrical charge was going off zipping through my brain. The neurologist said that tha was a good sign. it showed the snappasus happening again in my brain it was trying to re route it's self. I still have them on and off. I also had so much pressure it felt like if i nodded my head as in YES I was swollowing my eyeballs. I had all over bruising on my brain and 2 subarrachnoid bleeds the damage ended up on the frontal and left side of my brain. I am not the same person I was before but I am learning who I am now and what I can and can not do. its hard when you find out what it is you dont remember until it comes up.
Good luck just allow it to flow I took 800 mg IBP for months then went off on an as needed bases and it helps. but I get them all the time its part of my life I guess. you get use to it after awhile. "

" This often follows one for life, however there are medications that can ease the pain. Headaches are often.
