She was hit by a car May7,09 Went from trauma unit to rehab for broken leg (rods etc. put in leg) every bone broken, fell on leg yesterday, seeing Dr. tomorrow. She is in brain injury unit. They want to put her in skilled nursing home this Thursday. I want to have Dr. extend her time there so I can look at different places for her. I'm mad about the sudden move. Called her insurance and they will pay to let her stay. Big problem is that she insists she has no brain injury and wants to come home. We've tried reasoning with her and explain she needs more therapy etc. however she isn't hearing it. When its time for the move and she flips out, does anyone know what they will do? She hung up on me tonite because her brothers won't come to get her and she said she has rights and it wasn't a very nice phone call. Please I need some feedback, would deply appreciate it. Thank you Maryfran

" She does have rights but what is her age? Under 18, I think is the age, you have a say in her treatment.

Besides all the rods in her body, they are making her stay because she needs to. Eventually she will come home and then the fun begins.

I know that you are with her every step of the way and that is a good thing. Does everyone else understand about her TBI? That will help as well, for when she does come home.

I am really glad that you asked. I am sure that others will add the thoughts throughout the day and days to come. "

" Thank you for feedback. Most of my family members think she is trying to fool everyone and they don't have the slightest idea about brain injury. She has been moved closer to home so I can see her every day. Before the round trip to see her took about 4 hours and it really wore me out. Now I can be where she is in about 20 minutes. This is the hardest thing I've ever been thru and appreciate any advice etc. you can give. God bless, Maryfran "
