My 5 week old daughter died from this brain tumor 12/12/08. Cancer does not run in my family or my husbands. We did some genetic testing, what we could with some of the tumor tissue. I know it has almost been a year but I was wondering if anyone has had a child diagnosed with Medulloblastoma and has surgery and survived. If they gave you any answer as to what caused the tumor? I just don't know how my baby ended up with cancer.

I was looking around for some type of cause myself for my dad's glioblastoma & most these tumors don't have a known cause.
now I don't know much about any of these horrible things but one sentence stuck out to me in my search & that was something about the chromosomes. when you are created in the womb your chromosomes line up & something about the way they fall together, if properly formed there may be a link with brain tumors.
