I have been having these weird vision problems that don't seem to be directly related to my tumors. Its only happened a few times, 5 at the most in the past 4 months, but I get this weird pattern going on on the left side of my visual field. Its like a kaleidescope type thing, and its on a semi circle kinda line and I see it even with my eyes closed. It only lasts for a few minutes, but it is very weird when it happens. Anyone have any idea what this is, my neuro doc had no idea and my eye doc says my eyes are fine.

When I started seeing that sort of stuff my eye doctor sent me to a retina doctor that told me It looked as though my retina was going to detach. It scared the heck out of me, but I saw all kinds of colors and this line on the side of my pef. vision. Maybe something you might want to check into?

Our docs didn't really know either, but for a few weeks before my husband's second brain surgery, he had them often. Looking at things moving (ceiling fans, trains, etc.) made it worse. The only things the docs could tell us were that it was relatively normal for him to experience them and part of the tumor might be touching the optic nerve and triggering the responses.

Hi propgirl..have you considered during a Field of Visions Test with your eye doctor?
This way they can see what is going on with your peripheral vision. I experience what you are going through from time to time. However, I had a pituitary brain tumor which can affect peripheral vision. Not saying you do...but you should consider the test. It doesn't hurt. Just a big annoying because of the length of time it takes. Take care.

hello i don't know if this will help you but my husband has got a tumor he has had it removed today but he was getting vision problems he kept saying that it was going blury and he had funny shapes in front of his eye's they said it was something to do with the nervs in his eye from the pressor on his brain but if your doctors have said it's not i would get a second appinion just to make sure because they said the same to him but now he has had his operation it's starting to go away even so soon after his operation

before i was diagnosed with the tumor - i was having vision problems - the lines on a road wouldnt look paralell to me they would become perpendicular... when i went to the optimist - it took forever - but he finally told me my optic nerves were swollen...which can be caused by swelling of the brain...i dont know if that helps any...but you could have an eye doctor check your optic nerves...if all else fails

I've had those before too. It happens at night when I'm in the car. I forget what they are called, but apparently they are not uncommon with Brain Tumors I am surprised the doctors don't know about them. I will try and find out what they are called and let you know.

Hey:
My mom had vision problems. She spoke with her Doctor who did her radiation, and it could be because of the radiation, if it was close to the visual nerves it may have a small effect. That is what my mom's doctors told us. She had the same problem, but it didn't happen all the time. Hope it helps.
