Emotion Distress

Has anyone else gone through emotional distress after the procedure? My husband has good days and bad days and I just wondered if there was anything that can be done to help have a good day? I'm assuming getting enough sleep would help, which he didn't do last night, but is there anything else?

Also, I wanted to thank everyone for their words of encouragement. My husband doesn't want to join a support group (yet!) but I do read all of the responses to him and it does seem to help him :-)

" Brain tumors are (i think )90% emotional. How we think determines how we deal with it...Survivors often talk about the "rollercoaster ride" of emotions after such a procedure - the lows and the highs. These are normal, and to be expected. The best way I have seen to even out the emotional rollercoaster ride is by finding an in-person support group, one where he can rant, ask questions, laugh, share emotions. Many times the bad days come when one realizes the fragility of life - that it can be snatched away in an instant. This indeed can be depressing. However, a positive attitude (while difficult some days) is most important. Look at it this way - all of us on earth right now only have seconds left to live. It may be a hundred billion seconds, but seconds nonetheless! I say, "Let's not waste a single one!" "

" after my dad had each of his brain surgrys he had good and bad days too! to help with the good days we would do things that he liked to do play music, drink tea, watch a good movie, play a game. after doing this he would want to have more good days so in a way it helped encourage him to have more good days then bad. soon he was not having anymore bad days at all and everything was back to normal. that was only for his first 2 surgerys. good luck and may God be with you and your family.
