Hi! I am Dakotatears and I suffer from chronic neutropenia. My old doctor said that if I kept getting infections and my wbc dropped low again I could. About two years I found out that after the birth of my youngest, I contracted the human parvo-virus. Instead of it going away, It went into my bone marrow so my counts have stayed about 3000. Just looking for info. I have had IVig therapy when my counts were down to 2600. Thanks DT

Hi Dakota I'm Summer1963! I was diagnosed with cyclical neutropenia about 8 years ago, but my hemo doc thinks I've probably had it all my life. Thinking back, he's probably right. I've been in remission now for about 3 years. I know how NOT fun it is having to stay in the hospital every six months for weeks and sent home still feeling yucky for weeks. And the weekly blood tests. I haven't had one in a while. When I saw the vein in my arm literally jump out of the way of the needle, I just new I couldn't do it any more. I only go about every 3 month for my doctors appt. or if think I'm getting sick. Can I ask if you are seeing a hemotologist? When my counts are low he gives me Neupegen (sorry, not sure that is spelled correctly). It does the trick for me and has kept me out of the hospital numerous times. I'm going to try and invite you to "My Groups". I set it up in hopes people could find it, but I don't think anyone can. I've asked the "powers that be" to add it to their list, but no one has or gotten back to me. Hopefully we can talk more. You're "lucky" you were diagnosed just recently. 8 years ago, there was only one site out there with information. Now there is alot more!
