My BMT Donor and I are very close, and his brother died on a Thursday and I startrd feeling really depressed on Friday. He called me Saturday to tell me his brother had beed killed in a auto accident. I had been very teary and weepy all day.

Has anybody found that they have had feelings from their donor was having? I know that I picked up his habits and likings in food but I dont know that it is possible.

Please give me your opinion.

" I am not a recipient, but a donor...and I know my brother (who received the bone marrow) seemed to start liking foods that I did. When he passed away, they did an autopsy and tested his bone marrow and it was still Genetically "my bone marrow" which would then make it sensible that you and your donor would have similarities after the donation. (He passed 3yrs after the transplant.) "

" I think it could be possible. I too am close with my donor and have started liking the same sports he does (I never used to watch sports!) and foods. Grief is a very strong emotion and with your conection to him, it could be possible. Sometimes my mom, sister and I get feelings when something has happened to one of us. "

" I am hoping my brother will come through his transplant like a champion, I would rather have him stay him. I think it would be funny if he started liking some of the things I like. This donation has really brought us together like friends. It is strange that it took something like this to make us good friends. I guess we all just thought we would be healthy forever, like most, it is a shock when the truth changes our reality "
