It's been 4 years since my transplant, YAY!!!! The only trouble I have is lots of pain in legs and feet. Would like to hear how others are doing long term.

" I am not long term it will be 1 year next month. Did you have an allo transplant ? Did you get GVHD ? I have swelling and pain in my feet and legs and I do have GVHD just wondering if this is the cause.

" I am almost a year post transplant. Doing good right now. Have normal counts and feeling pretty good. I had a lot of trouble with GVHD. I had a related donor. Now I get GVHD flares if I get sick, usually muscle pain and joint pain. Still not up to full strength, but am told that takes time.
Wondering how long it took for you to feel "normal" again, or at least have most of the energy you had before?

" I'm 16 months post transplant (1/19/11), and am doing fine. It was my own cells, so no GVHD problems. I had some dermatological problems and was on prednisone from May to November, but that was about it. Stamina didn't really come back until May or June, but when it did I started pushing myself, walking at least 10 miles per week, just to keep in shape. So far that's working fine, and I'm feeling better than I did pre-transplant. "
