I had a Reduced Intensity Allogeneic stem cell transplant. I am day + 60 and my CBC have not improved. I know recovery is different for each of us but I was just wondering when others first saw their counts improve.
Thanks,
Peggy

" My white blood cells took over a year to normalize...but the most serious thing for me was my platelets, they were so low (below 20) and the doctors said there was nothing more they could to for me and wanted to send me home and thgat I would not recover. I was receiving blood transfusions daily. My platelets took At this point, I began taking a homeopathic medicine called CANOVA (it's from Brazil) it's meant to normalize all things in the immune system, and is widely used for treatment in cancer patients. 2 days after I started taking it, my counts started raising- and the doctors could not explain why this was happening (hehe). I kept taking the canova for about 3 years until my counts normalized. So don't give up! :) "

" I had an autologous BMT 1/19/11, and am past the +100 day mark and back to work. My white counts came back fast enough that I was released from the hospital on Day 13. My hemoglobin is still a tad low, and the doctors say that's the last thing to normalize. Hang in there; everyone is different, and your counts will normalize in time. My taste didn't come back until around Day 75, and my stamina is still not what I'd like, but it is getting better. "
