My 7 year old fell off his skates about 4 weeks ago, after arguing with the doctor he finally gave my son an x ray which revealed that he had fractured his humerus and there was a tumour too. We waited 5 days before we saw a specialist who said that it was a simple bone cyst, not to worry and he would see us in 4 weeks. We then had a letter saying that he had reviewed the x ray and would send us to our local orthopaedic hospital, We saw the Doctor ther 2 weeks ago and she said it wasn't typical of a bone cyst and sent him for an MRI. We had the results on Friday and they were inconclusive so we have to wait till this Friday to hear what the doctors are going to do. Can anyone shed any light as to what will happen. Everything seems to be taking so long. The original doctor has also wrote to my GP saying he had broke his arm etc and it WASN'T typical of a cyst when he told us that 's what it was!!!! My GP also said the fracture has callous growth around it which indicates healing but the x ray was taken the same day that he fell!! Can anyone help or tell me do these things usually take this long?

Hello. I am writing because I read your story on your son. My son was diagnosed last year with bone cancer at the age of 14. He has gone through chemotherapy and surgery and then more chemo. He isalmost at the end of his chemo with 7 more treatments left. What I would suggest to you is to go and see an oncologist. These doctors specialize in looking into whether your son has something major such as bone cancer or something minor such as a cyst like you were told. I only hope your doctors have not given you the wrong diagnosis for your son. I would not wait any longer to find out what is going on. I know from experience with my son, it can take a few days to find out results of MRI's and such. Please let me know how your son is doing and if the doctors have shed any light about your son. I sincerely hope he is ok as I would not want anyone to go through what i have gone through with my son. But on the positive side, my son is now cancer-free and he had his surgery and is doing just fine now. God bless!

Hello. Sorry I havent written to you in a while as I had to take my son to the ER with a temp of 103 and really bad mouth sores from his chemo. He is doing better now and hopefully he will be coming out soon. So, were you able to find out what was going on with Alex? Please let me know what the doctors are doing for him and such. Did they do a biopsy? I am concerned as I hope he is ok. Big hugs to you and Alex.
