About three months or so, I got a positive test back for bone cancer, but it wasn't so high that my doctor thinks that it is cause for worry over the possibility for bone cancer. I'm really scared because I feel like I'm getting weaker and what feels like the pain that is in my bones is getting worse. I don't know what to do. With dealing with lupus since I was a child, I've had all kinds of weird things happen to me, but this could be serious. I don't want to be a hyprochondriac, and make a mountain out of a molehill, but what if this is something serious? What if this is something serious? Should I get a second opinion? And also, the pain meds they are giving me for my lupus are barely even touching the pain from this bone pain. Please, if any of you have any advice, or if any of this sounds familiar, I'm open to any and all advice. I'd be appreciate.

Yes, by all means get a second opinion! Try to find an orthopedic oncologist. They will be able to help you and do any test you may need to indeed determine if it is some form of bone cancer. A core biopsy is one way of determining if there is cancer. Do not wait too long if you are truly worried. There are several things that can be done to save legs/arms if the cancer is caught early enough. Lorri

Shannon, if you receive this message, please tell how you are doing now. You posted this awhile ago, but I remember being just as scared as you in 2006 when I was diagnosed with a rare form of sarcoma. I had an amputation. But I'm still here. How are you doing?
