post cancer fatigue?

I was wondering how many of you guys on here are suffering from that for a long time after treatment? I had a rhabdoid tumor which is very rare and there isn't group for it on here. But the closest group to it would be bone cancer. I was exhausted for years after treatment, and no doctors would help me. I explained other symptoms of infection, but to no avail from doctors. I've just recently been diagnosed with staph, which is a big reason why I've been so tired. I am posting this because I want people to be aware. I personally think in most cases so called "post cancer fatigue" probably has a unique infection attached to it. A lot of people I know got right back to their normal lives after having cancer, but then there is that group of people that just can't seem to get back up. I saw a specialist who deals with people with chronic fatigue and he was very knowledgeable about infections that most doctors don't think to look for. I want more people to hear this because I know that for the past 4 years I was miserable, and if you're tired like me, definitely don't give up or give in to taking stimulants for the rest of your life. It very well could be something more. Not necessarily staph, but some sort of an infection that is bogging you down. I finally am going to get healthy now, and I really hope that all of you are doing well with your diagnosis and are getting well ASAP. Just thought this might help someone who feels at a loss with their GP and oncologists when it comes to the fatigue issue not being resolved. I know I did. Love you all and good luck!

Glad you found the root cause of your fatigue. You seem to be ahead of me. I had Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in my bones as well as Hodgkin's in my lymph nodes and went through chemo about a year and a half ago. Good now, cancer free that is but I get tired real fast. Just finished a round of antibiotics for an intestinal bacterial infection. Feeling lots better but this is the second one in five months. I think it is as you say, my immune system is not up to par and I seem to get infections easily. The problem is I do not recognize it soon enough before it drags me down. I am thinking that I need to be more pro-active in helping my immune system fight so I do not get sick so easy. I might be fighting infections rather than healing.
