Advice:
Not Sure What To Expect

I have been diagnosed with a rare type of bone tumor that is located in my maxillary sinus. It is benign, but a very aggressive one that demands treatment. My surgeon has said that surgery will be very risky and will greatly diminish my quality of life, and has suggested radiation/chemo to shrink and get rid of this tumor for good, since this is its 3rd occurrence in 13 years. This tumor causes me excruciating pain daily, and is growing. I just have no idea what to expect with radiation or chemo. I still have to see those doctors, so I have no idea about any type of radiation or chemo. I feel so alone, I don't have cancer but the way they are presenting to treat it is as if I did. I just don't know where I fit in anymore. Can anyone help? Please?

" Speak to your doctors about how you are feeling, and ask them as many questions regarding your treatment, etc. that you want answered. Maybe there is some kind of support group that would help you get through these very difficult times. Do you have any close friends to relate to? A mom, dad, or sibling? Try to be as open as you can to those closest to you and in return you should receive encouragement and love.

Just making and answering posts here at DS can bring you so much relief. Just open up more when you are ready to. We are all here to be your friend in a time of such need. Take care. "
