Financial Assistant advice for Mom

My Mom had to quit her job due to her bone cancer. She no longer has the use of her legs and finally just got her "electric" chair. Her bathroom is equipped with a tub with shower. She can not lift her legs high enough to get over the tub. She has been giving herself sponge baths. This bothers me. She doesn't have much time to herself and when she does the depression sets in and she cries most of the time. My husband has the ability to rip the existing tub out of her bathroom and install a stand up shower but unfortunately we don't have the funds and neither does she. I was wondering if anyone knew of any organization or anything that may help. Her insurance won't even help. She called and they said all they could do was to send someone over to her home to bathe her. I would love to see her get back a little dignity and have some relaxing time where she could just sit in the shower and let the warm water run over her aching body. I've googled this and have come up with nothing. Does anyone have any ideas or advice for me to help her? Any info. would be appreciated! Thanks :)
