I was wondering, at what point in the process of like interviewing and such should you ask a potential employer about body mod rules/dress codes, if they haven't already mentioned it themselves? Usually during interviews the employer asks you if you have any questions of your own. Do you think it would be a bad idea to ask it at this time, as it might give the employer a bad impression of you before they decide to hire you? Do you think you should just wait until they tell you that you're hired? It should be noted that I do not intend to turn down a job offer because they don't allow mods. I'm fine with hiding them, it would just make my life a lot easier if I didn't have to.

" Honestly in today's job market I wouldn't ask until after you get the job (especially since this isn't a make or break for you) because generally the do you have any questions segment of the job interview is where you would ask the employer what type of employee fits well with your organization, ect.

If you where really opposed to a job that that won't allow you freedom of expression then I would ask or at least look at the other employees when you went for the interview.

Good luck. "

" I don't really ever mention it
Mainly my tattoos on my arms are the only concern... I don't have any facial piercings or anything so that's not a big deal for me
So, I wear long sleeves during my interview which mostly cover my tattoos but even with the long sleeves I'm sure the employer sees a little bit of my tats... If they don't ask me about it, I don't bring it up
Many places have employee handbooks, those often include body mod with dress code...
If I still get no info, I work there for about a week and just kinda look at the other people who work there. After that amount of time, I may ask my employer if they mind me wearing short sleeves. Emloyers are about 50/50 on that with me- mostly because some of my tattoos are controvercial...
But I also think it really varies on where you live, what you do for a job and what kind of mods you are talking about
Part of my current job requires me to not wear sleeves but my employer prefers me to cover my arms in the public area
So I wear a lab coat when I'm out front talking to clients and take it off when I'm in the treatment room... It's not my favorite scenario, but it's something I'm willing to do for that job "
