My husband, in the past 6mos, is having more and more difficulty seeing. He went to a second eye dr. and had the first one fill the lens prescription to see if the new exam would enable him to see better. He continues to lose the ability to see signs and certain things on tv. What should he do if an optometrist cannot help him? He wants his primary dr. to tell him to see an opthamologist before he will make an app't, he is most stubborn and wasting precious time as far as I am concerned. He was told he is at the very beginning of cataracts and I wonder if it isn't much more advanced then he was told. I would appreciate the benefit of others' experience, right now!

Hello Scottish,
Your husband needs to get to an opthamologist. Has he spoken to his doctor about his eye problems? Maybe next time you should go with him and tell the doctor he won't go to an opthamologist unless he tells him to. I haven't gone to a chain store eye place in almost 20 years. They are great if you need glasses, but not so good if you have problems. Good luck with your husband dc
