Hi All,
How people who are visually impaired access medical records or remember consulting sessions with a doctor? Suppose, when a VI person goes to a doctor when he is sick, usually doctor speaks and writes the prescription on a paper. How does VI people access what doctor prescribe or remember dos and don’ts specified by doctor? Some options could be: 1. They are accompanied by someone who can also remember the conversation and read the prescription. 2. They rely on their memory to remember the session with a doctor and prescription. 3. They take help of family members or friends to read the prescription. 4. They record the conversation with doctor. Would appreciate if the VI community can share their experiences. It would be also helpful if you can comment on how those who don’t have access to smartphones or screen readers access the information. Thanks! Posted on 06/22/12, 05:47 am |
