i think that's how you pronounce it. a rare eye condition that gives you macular degeneration when you are young, for *some* people.
they say even that is rare but it's happening to me, with flashers and floaters and mild loss of peripheral vision. plus being nearsighted, and with poor depth perception, i started to notice that crossing the street during busy times was not good for me a month or so ago. sorry to complain about something that is probably not a big deal for most of you here. but i hope you can relate to something i'm saying as i reach out for help on how to deal. i just wasn't told of this at all, or that it would happen now. there isn't anything to be done, or nothing has been suggested by my current doc. i'm going to start using a cart soon, and have been using larger print when i can. take care and hope all is well. thanks for any advice on how to deal with changing eyesight. Are you getting any type of assistance from your local commission for the blind? They will help with mobility training and other things as well.
It is a big deal loosing your sight. I have retinaous pigmentosa(RP) ( i think I spelled it wrong) but anyway, I am going through the same type of thing and it sucks.

oh, sorry to hear about your eye sight woes too. it's weird how these things happen over time subtly and then i realize it, in not being able to do the same things as before. does that happen to you too?
for example, today i went to a park but tripped twice on a root because of my depth perception changing. same thing with cracks in pavement on the sidewalk. my eye doctor acted like what was happening wasn't a big deal. but to me obviously it was because my eye sight is changing. most people don't have symptoms even when they do have the rare condition, but i have since last year. i'm not sure if i need something else to help me navigate or not. i guess it's situational. thanks for replying and showing some solidarity. it does suck and i wish we knew what to do about this. i heavily depend on reading and writing so much, in part because two neuromuscular conditions. but i get around on the bus or with my partner. she drives, and i'm lucky that way. best to you and if you want to talk or message me. how old are you? i'll look up that retina pigmentosa.
