My brother suffers from tunnel vision. He is totally blind in one eyes and is almost in the other.
He is frustrated because he says he can't make friends outside the VI unit in the school he goes to. He is frustrated as well because he feels unabble to go out places with his friends because he feels his sight is holding him back.
Does anyone know anyway I could help do something about this?

" I RECOMMEND U AND HIM GOING OUT 2GETHER, AT FIRST, AND TRY NEW THNGS. I 2 HAVE RP. AS WELL AS MY 7 YR. OLD SON. HIM AND I STICK 2GETHER. IF U DIDN'T KNOW BY US TELLING U, NOONE WOULD SUSPECT WE ARE BOTH LEGALLY BLIND. I HAVE HAD RP SINCE I WAS 9. I DO MOST THNGS NORMAL SIGHTED PEOPLE DO, IT JUST MIGHT TAKE ME A LITTLE LONGER. I VOLUNTTER AT LOCAL DOG SHELTERS AND MY SONS SCHOOL. I GO OUT W/ FRIENDS WHEN I FIND THE TIME. I STILL READ. AND I 2 HAVE TUNNEL VISION. PUSH HIM 2 HELP HIM DISCOVER THERE IS STILL ALOT OF THNGS HE CAN DO. AND AS FAR AS HIS FRIENDS, HE NEEDS 2 TELL THEM ABOUT HIS CONDITION AND HOW 2 HANDLE IT. IF THEY CN'T OR ARE UNWILLING TO HELP, LOSE EM I SAY. "

" Its hard but you two should go out together and so things together. Let him know and support him by telling him things are ok and you here for him. Then maybe he will become more confident. Also have him and his friends meet up at the mall or a place they like to go out and you could go with him and support him with his friends. Not meaning you act like a parent or anything but just go out into the community. If he doesnt want you to be with him when he is with his friends then he can go with his friends to the mall and you could go but just stay back so you can see how he does in public with out anyone knowing your his brother or watching out for hime. ya know? He is not alone and either are you. "
