I don't have that answer,Never had bcg treatments, I had to have my bladder removed because of invasive bladder cancer. Do a search for BCAN. That is an excellant support website that I know someone will help you.

Hi, if you have no further treatments, it is possible that the BCG you did have will be effective in preventing future recurrences. However, it is critical that you keep in mind that BC likes to keep recurring so another recurrence is possible therefore you must have regular follow-up. At least quarterly cystos for a year or two, then every six months, then yearly. You really need to avoid any muscle invasion. Some people do not do well at all with BCG in terms of the symptoms. There are drugs that can be used. BCG at a low dose with Interferon (also an immunotheray) is an option, but symptoms are similar. Mitomycin C is a chem agent and less effective. A new drug called Valstar approved in the US looks likke a good option. Be sure to get those follow ups, BC is highly redcurrant and is lethal if it metastasizes.

I had similar symptoms with my BCG treatment. Detrol stopped the burning and urine flow problems. I had the flue symptoms and My doc gave me Ianiazid, that helped a lot. He also reduced the dose to 1/3. Usually BCG maintenance is recommended.
