I know i have had blood in urine for the last year. Afterlooking at medical records i see it has been an ongoing thing for 3 years. My RBC's and WBC's have been up in 2007 then down in 2008 and even more up recently. They have just now refered me to urologist. I have all the symptoms of kidney stones but i had IVP, renal ultrasound, and CT Scan also all that showed nothing!
I have taken neumorous antibiotics, and plus i was hurting like spasms in abdoman for 2 days then wen i urinated it was like 20 black specs that was floating i have told the doctor about this i have had the black specs before. My grandmother had bladder cancer and all this ongoing is getting to me. Any info or advice will really help! Thanks! Posted on 08/07/09, 04:08 pm |

Hello, Don't delay to see a urogolist This could be a sign of bladder cancer. I went through this 2 years ago and have had to have my bladder removed. I only had blood in urine one day that I noticed and the specks one other time. Get this checked out soon. D.B.

Hang in there hon... and insist on whatever medical care is available to you. Blood in the urine is very scary, and can be a symptom of so many different things that you just don't know what to think. Don't worry too much, but do insist on whatever free testing is available to you, as soon as you can. Better safe than sorry.
BIG HUGS to ya

You really should have been referred to a good urologist before now. It could be a persistent bladder infection and they should have done cultured urine tests to determine the strain. BUT, this really needs to be checked out., it surely could be BC and don;t wait on finding out. See the best urologist you can find and be sure you get a cystoruroscopy. Please get on top of this. Best of luck to you.

I had a cystoscopy done 2 weeks ago today, and a tumor was confirmed. The urologist said 98% of bladder tumor's are cancerous, but that 85% of bladder cancer is non-aggressive. By my first heavy bleeding episode was almost 2 years ago, so who knows how long I had it before then. I just got some insurance through a county program. I'd like to know how you are doing. How did you "like" the cystoscopy? I hope I never have to have another one!
