I recently got a Hug from a user on this forum that was pretty offensive, and extremely inaccurate. The person who sent it is not Bisexual and only joined the forum to "offer their support." I was told that I need to "have faith in the lord" and that if I live outside the will of God then He is likely to increase my troubles until I reach the breaking point...
I don't think that this type of support is what people on this forum need. Further, I have been told that I will be damned and sent to "Hell" for most of my life, so while this isn't shocking to me as I am secure in who I am, it occurs to me that this could be extremely damaging to some others. So I want to remind everyone that there is nothing wrong with being bisexual. I also want to remind you that God loves you and no one can tell you what God's purpose in your life is except Him. I further recommend that if this user continues, we regard it as what it is, harassment, and we report it. I haven't named the user here because I don't really want to start a flame war. I agree with you. I'm bisexual and was born with genitalia of both genders. I got hell in high school for going with the gender i felt most comfortable with wich obviously is female. They didnt care that I was born with both they just saw me as a guy and nothing else.Trust me it didnt make my life any easier down in that hellhole town to be bisexual on top of that. Whenever someone told me I was going to hell I told them to not live my life for me.

I'd have reported it immediately I think. I'm a Christian and only just coming to terms with the fact I'm bisexual. Nothing on this planet is the way God originally planned it and you're right to take the stance you have.

As i stated earlier today in a post elsewhere, I do not know where I stand on the whole "is there a god/goddess, whatever" thing and the last thing I need is to be preached to with the traditional, "come back into the fold" message from ppl of a faith that I have a real hard time with. I don't have issues with Christians so long as they don't proselytize to me that I need to "go to a 'swingin' church and get saved..." The last person that made this kind of comment to me, I asked them 'swinging what way..." I, for a long time had issue as to who I was sexually and have heard all the comments before (ie Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve... chapters in the Bible against fornication with the same sex... God hates gays ... You're going to burn in Hell...)
Fair warning... I get any message like that, I will consider it disrespectful and give a taste back to the issuer. I will not tolerate that type of behavior from anyone again, whether or not they say they have good intentions... obviously not.

I cannot stand being preached to. I am Pagan as well as being bisexual and I get really annoyed if someone does that. I cannot tell you how many messages and "hugs" I have deleted since coming to DS. Not just about that but generally offensive topics. Which, if you know me, says a lot if I get offended!
