I've been thinking on this forever and still am looking for more ideas so yeah...
I've wanted to get a tattoo the last few years but I wouldn't let myself get one until I got my messed up brain and life back in my control. So I'm finally closer to that place in my life, probably thanks to growing up and accepting the bipolar diagnosis...but anyway the concepts I want to somehow represent are loving yourself - cus thats been one hell of a struggle for me and I'm finally learning to do it strength - or something like that, the point is it takes a lot of inner strength I think to overcome challenges that come along with bp happiness - because shit thats hard too haha so yeah, I don't know maybe kinda corny but it would mean a lot for me because its everything that was impossible to deal with and maintain when all of this mess first started I don't really want like japanese/chinese characters, but rather I'd like to work with my friend who's super artistic and draw up something myself. So any ideas you have that would sort of represent any of my concepts would be sweet, thanks! Posted on 10/20/09, 01:10 pm |

well im bi polar and i got a tatto running from my upper left shoulder to my lower back with 64 stars (the number of genes required to change to be bi polar) there haave of them are black with a small outline of white in the centre and the other half are the same but inverted (just the black outline and an outline within that)
For me it represent to begin with difference in mood i have and the changes it has on me whereas at the same time there all small and intricate and beautiful to symbolize how its also a part of me i accept and embrace. I also had a small silhouette of a fist in black and white (the same one used in black civil rights movements in south africa) as for me it represents the struggle for people to understand your point of view and not giving up Dunno if thats any help :)
