Is it time to go to the doctor?

Recently i have discovered i have several signs of bipolar. Most latest being excessive spending. I just got paid and spent it all on usless stuff I don't need but at the time it all seemed so needed. I have also discovered that I go through periods of depression for 2 weeks (give or take a few days). I was already aware of the depression but i started tracking the length of time. I'm just wondering is it time to see a doctor, and if so what do i do, is there a specific type of doctor to go to?

" Keep a mood chart (google it or something, you'll find one to make or print) and bring that in to whomever your regular doctor sets you up with. Just go in like a normal apt, and let him/her know you'd like to speak to a counselor or someone in the field of psychiatry. Should be set up there or maybe at another location later that week. Glad you're seekin' help! Very cool of you to notice your behavior before it ends up getting beyond a reasonable point. And sorry to hear about your paycheck. I do that all the time, but figured since I don't have a credit card, it's all good. It's so not. LOL ty for your post have a good night "

" Bipolar isn't just depression and excessive spending. They're more of major mood swings, usually excessive spending goes along with extreme moods, I suggest like the person above myself, you should keep a mood chart. And if you do get a doctor, make sure it's someone you like. "
